Munene was born in the village called Julesburg (Rhulani) in Tzaneen, Limpopo province. She started singing at the age of 8 at AFM Bordeaux, under the leadership of Pastor Evans Shipalana and Pastor TT Mbhungana.
It was due to her amazing talent that she joined the youth choir and the worship team at an early age of 12, and became a lead singer. It was during this period that she realized how God has blessed her with a beautiful voice to minister through song.
Munene later joined a group called Imagination formed by Mr Joey Mhlarhi, which managed to record one album in which she became a lead singer. Although the group was still on its growing phase, they were in demand to perform in most weddings and funerals.
Munene Doreen, now Mrs Mashele was married to Mr Mawewe Clifford Mashele in 2006 and moved to Tshepiso in Vereeniging Gauteng. They are blessed with 2 children named Xihlovo and Xivono Mashele. It was after their marriage that she joined AFM Sharpeville Jubilee Centre and is a member the assembly’s worship team.
Munene Doreen Mashele is a member around which Barach Worshippers was formed and she was working with Maneo Helepi (as a backing vocalist) during the recording of her debut album, Ngingumfokazi.
